After Birmingham was chosen to host the 2022 commonwealth games the PASchannel drainage system was incorporated into the design of the Sandwell aquatics centre.

All the drainage was fitted prior to screed, set to heights on adjustable legs then secured with epoxy resin prior to the screed going in.
The channels were installed in two main phases, the first for the commonwealth games, then a second phase after the centre closed to be altered for the legacy phase.
